How licences work
Simple to buy, easy to move.
Sign in once
Sign in to the app with your visualdiff account, or paste a licence key. The Mac it runs on is activated against your seat.
Works offline
The app checks in now and then. If it can't reach visualdiff.app it keeps working for 30 days. Your screenshots and reports never leave your Mac.
Move a seat
New Mac, or someone left? Deactivate a device from your account, and its slot is free straight away.
Yours to keep
A licence includes a year of updates. If you don't renew, you keep using any version released before it ended; renew whenever you want the newer ones.
Questions
What leaves my Mac?
Only licence checks: your licence key, an anonymous identifier and the name of the Mac, and the app version. Screenshots, page lists, databases and reports stay on your machine.
Does it need anything installed?
No. Node and Chromium are built into the app. Comparing git branches uses the git, PHP and MySQL you already have for local development, with Herd if you use it.
Can I use it for client work?
Yes. Every licence covers commercial use on any number of projects and clients.
What happens after a year?
Your licence renews automatically unless you cancel. If it lapses, visualdiff keeps working with every version released while your licence was active. Updates released after that need a renewal.
Do you charge VAT?
Stripe sells visualdiff on our behalf as merchant of record, so VAT, GST and sales tax are worked out at checkout for your country, and receipts and tax invoices come straight from Stripe. Businesses can add a tax ID at checkout.
